Royalist victory in English Civil War

What can be done, with a POD of 1642, to have a Royalist Victory in the English Civil War? I am no expert or anything, but I do recall their odds were better early on before losing a major general in an important battle. I do know it works better is Oliver Cromwell or any other important leader on the Roundhead side dies in battle or even is seriously wounded. Said victory can be any kind of condition that allows Charles I to remain on the throne, even if it barely a victory.

This is a tough one, even though I've read a lot of books on the subject I'm US and not UK. This means there's a lot of little things I don't know. But my 2 cents...

1) Charles needs better advisors and needs to listen to them. Hew made a number of poor judgements throughout the war.
2) More overseas support. And more local support, which could happen if he'd made some concessions.
3) IIRC there was an offer made by Parliament around 1643-44 that Charles absolutely refused to even consider. If he'd taken it he would have retained the throne.
