Royalist State post English Civil War

so I was thinking about the English Civil War(s) and the 1649 crowning of Charles II as the very Limited King of Scotland, I was also thinking of the Irish Catholic Confederation, so say something happens to Cromwell (falls off a horse and dies) could one or both these states make it? and what would the long term history of a Republican England and Royalist Scotland and Ireland look like?

They could not exist together. Either the Army marches North and kicks Charles straight back to exile or England collapses into civil war and Charles returns with Scots backing. In the first case I think the "republic" would be much more unstable and would probably end in a restoration. In the second Charles would quickly use English backing and money to wiggle out from his promises to the Scots.
