I've recently posted about how easy it is for the Royal Navy to do better and for butterflies to flap big time over the next few years. I intend to write an outline of a timeline exploring this idea the idea of how much difference we could possibly have by the time of the Japanese entry into ww2. I expect the idea that a British fleet of 6 capital ships and 3 carriers at Singapore isn't unlikely. Let us see.
Starting with.
17 September: U29 attacks HMS Courageous. One torpedo out of three hits and HMS Courageous limps back to port in Britain at 12 knots. HMS Courageous needs 7 months in dockyard in order to return to service. Her airgroup is split between other carriers who were operating with a light airgroup due to peacetime conditions.
Next post is on Norway. While there will not be extra ships all carriers have a slightly improved airgroup.
