Royal Navy potential butterflies rolling stone WW2

I've recently posted about how easy it is for the Royal Navy to do better and for butterflies to flap big time over the next few years. I intend to write an outline of a timeline exploring this idea the idea of how much difference we could possibly have by the time of the Japanese entry into ww2. I expect the idea that a British fleet of 6 capital ships and 3 carriers at Singapore isn't unlikely. Let us see.

Starting with.

17 September: U29 attacks HMS Courageous. One torpedo out of three hits and HMS Courageous limps back to port in Britain at 12 knots. HMS Courageous needs 7 months in dockyard in order to return to service. Her airgroup is split between other carriers who were operating with a light airgroup due to peacetime conditions.

Next post is on Norway. While there will not be extra ships all carriers have a slightly improved airgroup.

Well with an extra Carrier or 2 (Glorious?) and far fewer losses among the hard to replace Fleet air arm personnel - Operation Judgement could enjoy an extra carrier or 2

Basically 21 Swordfish of which only 2/3rd were carrying torpedoes made a real mess of the Italian fleet in late 1940 OTL

What would 60 odd have done with 4 times the torpedoes?

Then with the italian fleets 2 modern and 4 refitted BBs all gone and likely all 3 Heavy Crusiers that were sharing the outer harbour at the time then the Verdun of the Med is not so Verdun like (possibly butterflying Ark Royal and Eagles losses as well as damage to several of the Armoured Deck Carriers) and this has serious implications to the subsequent fighting in North Africa, East Africa, the Middle East, various Kick ups vs the Vichi French, and not to mention assets available to be sent to the Far East in late 41.

By all means this advantage might very well get Churchill'd away in a series of Crazy schemes but lets assume that the Admiralty remembers that Winston is an Amataur and a Civilian.

I think Glorious will be safe in Norway but I have still to write it. Any reinforcement for operation Judgement may be at the cost of HMS Eagle. Remember Illustrious was overloaded for Judgement as she had taken a chunk of Eagles airgroup when she wasn't serviceable. I'm thinking 2 or 3 for Judgement if 2 it will likely be overloaded with Eagles airgroup. If 3 Eagle won't be in theater.

That said a few things have to be written. Maybe a force H raid on a backup harbour instead of a massive judgement.

Mers El Kebir and Norway and god knows what else is first.

There's so many points in the war where an extra carrier could have swung things big time.

I've a list of events. I will consider the royal navy dispositions and consider what butterflies could occur.

Or have Hermes be the carrier that gets torpedoed on AS patrol in 1939 and causes the policy to be changed (I believe it was used briefly). Even if it is lost, it's a much less useful ship than Courageous.

Well I've written courageous being torpedoed once instead of twice and having to spend a few months being repaired as my first change. 2 from 3 was a very high quoted of luck/skill from the German submariners. Getting 1 from 3 and condemning Courageous to the yards for 6 months will still be considered a good result by the Germans.
