Rowland Allanson-Winn, 5th Baron Headley, King of Albania?

Obligatory Wiki Link

Relevant quote from TIME Magazine, 1937, and link.

In 1925 he was offered the kingship of Moslem Albania, declined it when refused $500,000 and $50,000 a year.

Now, the thing is- I can't find reference to this except in the TIMES article or in items citing the TIMES article. Nothing on the Armenian offer, nothing on why, nothing on who offered it, et cetera.... and 1925 seems suspicious because of the troubles with King Zog's exile and the leftist coup and then his presidency and so on....

But the idea could be interesting, even with the paucity of sources. Let's assume the leftist group that put Zog into exile are the ones who invite Headley to the throne- and lets assume he takes it.

Whats next?

For those who didn't bother to read the Wiki, this man was one of the premier "Western Muslims" in the late 19th century.

What are the effects of putting such a man on the throne?
