Roosevelt picks Wyatt Earp as Vice-Potus

Both men had been friends. Earp (born 1848) was only 10 years older than Roosevelt. Both had been figures of the Old West. What if Earp is more ambitious and has his account of the Tombstone events and his frontier life published in his favour earlier aswell. Maybe Bat Masterson join, too.

TR doesn't need anymore "Wild West" added to his resume. Him plus Earp may make the powers back East think twice of backing the pair.

Perhaps Taft picks him for VP on Roosevelts strong suggestion

Then he could run with Hughes or Cox

or he could run with FDR in 1924 (barring FDR's illness)

or here is a stretch

1920 Cox is killed by an anarchist, FDR uses the country's sympathy to win the election. Earp is the VP and when Polio hits Franklin he retires and Earp becomes President, probably dying in his second term
