Romanos Dies at Manzikert

As is known Romanos Diogenes pretty much got whipped badly at the part fairly on a major part due to bad tensions and betrayal within his own ranks. Still, he fought pretty valiantly for a Roman Emperor and received a wound in his hand that eventually lead to his capture. Once captured and after a little ritual humiliation, Romanos was treated well by Alp Arslan and sent back to Constantinople with a treaty and ransom, but of course Romanos now had to deal with the usurpers who had cropped up in his absence.

What if instead Romanos had died at Manzikert? Would the Turks have pressed their luck and expanded into the Anatolia and even attack the feuding Byzantines?
