Romani homeland in East Prussia after WWII?

I know this is probably unrealistic, but I just want to speculate. Let's say that sometime before the Soviet occupation of East Prussia, the Western Allies propose that the Romani ("Gypsy") people be given a state in East Prussia after the removal of the German population (much of which had already been evacuated), and for some reason, Stalin agrees. The state might just consist of OTL Kaliningrad Oblast, or maybe some other section of the territory.

What would become of this state? Would it be doomed to be a Soviet puppet? Would it be annexed as an SSR? Might it be a largely neutral, Finlandized "buffer"? Or something else?

How would the political system of the state work? Would its law be similar to most other law codes of Europe, or might it incorporate elements of traditional Romani law? What would its economy be like? Would its government be able to handle the influx of hundreds of thousands of Romanis?

Lastly, what would it be called? This thread yielded a few serious proposals. Would the international flag of the Romani people be used, or would a different one be adopted for the country itself, taking into account the fact that the blue and green flag with a red chakra isn't popular with many Eastern European Romani? What might its emblem look like?

Do they even want a state of their own, what with their reputation for mobility? If not, it'd be like herding them onto a reservation against their will.

Well, I'd certainly imagine that moving to the state would be voluntary.

There would be a number of advantages associated with a Romani state, even if it meant giving up itinerancy. Firstly, it would be a place where Romani would be able to escape discrimination and achieve full opportunity to advance materially and socially. The discrimination aspect would be especially important after WWII, as the Nazis had killed a large amount of Romani during the Holocaust, so the state could be a safe haven. It would also also protect Romani culture, keeping it from being assimilated into surrounding European culture, and allowing Romani to follow their traditions without being pressured to assimilate.

So, yes, I think many would want a state, and IIRC in OTL some Romani thinkers and leaders have expressed desire for a state or agreed that a state would be advantageous.

Hey they dont even have a national identity. Just a few rrom have declared themselfs as such. The Rroms adapt themselfs to local languages and cultures mostly and they don't get along with autorithi. So no, a romani country is a total ASB. The jews had a lot of money to back them and help them create their own country but the Rroms had no one and the Soviet Union wont give land away.

The Roma aren't the same as the Jews, they don't have that longstanding tradition of literacy that the Jews do, and they, as someone already mentioned, are largely inclined to assimilate the language and ways of a culture they move into rather than keep their own styles. It isn't the Roma way to set aside a land for themselves.

Probably not plausible, I'm afraid. Now a Jewish homeland, on the other hand........can easily be done. :D
