Ok, made a title i thought would catch people's attentions, but i'm just curious about people's opinions of this...

to my understanding rome waltzed up the british isles because the individual tribes were unco-ordinated and in general didn't like each other a whole lot

anther thing about their "invasion" is at the time, british war tactics were different to anything the romans had come across before, the tribes were in escence still in the bronze age, but i think at the time (i think early iron age) bronze swords were still tougher than early iron swords (being able to put serious dents in them)

also at the time a favoured tactic involved chariots (yes chariots in the british isles! they even had tires of sorts) in effect, the charriots would be manned, with some wariors hanging onto the sides of the chariots as they thundered towards the enemy ranks, the chariots would smash the lines, the warriors would drop into the midst of the enemy and happily start hacking away

If there was a united Pre-britain before the romans arrived, would this have stopped them?

as always feel free to critique any of the above points (as they are mostly remembered from a documentary i once saw a while ago that i can't remember the name of)

more of a discussion than a POD, so giving POD's yourself is a welcome addition
