Robert Taft in '52

So what if Robert A. Taft won the 1952 Republican nomination (not that unreasonable)? How would Taft end the Korean War? Who would be his VP? Would this increase the Democrat's in 1956?

You left out the part where he wins the election.

Both Stevenson and Taft are more ideological than most, but Taft is—at least in '52—farther away from the centre than Stevenson. Without having to engage the deeply popular Eisenhower Adlai can probably do better.

But, let's say Taft wins. His VP is almost certainly a moderate from the North, or perhaps the West.

Unless he pours troops in then Korea is going to end up similar to OTL.

The Suez Canal is interesting. IOTL one of the reasons Eisenhower screwed the British/French was to help him win re-election. Taft could do the same, or he could back them.

Does Adlai get a rematch in '56 as per OTL?

Didn't Taft die in '52 or '53? What if Nixon heard of Eisenhower's disparaging comments and threw the California delegation to Taft, and Taft picks him as his veep?
