Risk Born Fantasy

I was playing Risk on my computer today and (in Scenario) i saw something happen that happens often. Austrian North Africa! Any way to make this possible?

I had planned it for a timeline in which Austria would have become the main European power in the 19th Century. Then Austria, not France, would have launched the 1830 Algiers expedition.
Even without this: in OTL, Austria had gained in 1815 a large access to the Mediterranean: Venice, Trieste, Ragusa... The POD comes in 1827, when the Dey of Algiers slaps the Austrian consul, and it happens that at that time Metternich wants to take the public opinion off more serious inner problems... Tunisia and Morocco will follow later, just as in OTL.
... Wait, you mean North Africa as it appears on a Risk map, including all OTL's Western and Equatorial French Africas? OK, this would need more and earlier adjustments:D

No, This is a Europe only Risk Map, so Morocco to Egypt. I like your idea. How likely is it that Austria can hold onto Algeria?

For European what-if affairs, I prefer Medieval: Total War, the original sequel to Shogun. Rome and M2 didn't help, just made it prettier.

How about a Scottish Spain, or Crusader Levant? Or the Spanish Reconquista begins and ends much earlier, by a couple of centuries or more, and goes on to become a superpower prior to the discovery of the New World?

What program do you play Risk with. Let me rephrase that, what..... God I don't know, but there are several different risk programs out there, so which one do you use is what I'm trying to say.

Personally I play risk on my phone, which is good for in history and stuff.

Never start in Europe or Asia!

How would the Austrians get there? And if they could find away, could they defeat the entire military of France that would be there to stop them? It took France 30 years to subdue Algeria, with easy access and way more sea power. Austria would end up bogged down in an endless struggle and would probably be torn apart by the effort. They would also have no way of defending any colonial territory. There is a reason the Hapsburgs never even considered this sort of thing.
