The Ripple of Conversion

How a conversion changed history
On 1445, Arab traders migrated to the Manila Bay, the religion of Islam spread like wildfire from the migrants that proselytized their religion in the basins of Kagayan river and the Pampanga river as well as but it was not yet the religion of the royalty there, the religion would be official a few generations after Alon because of the religious change but the relationship between Tondo and Majapahit deteriorated and pulled it to the orbit of Malacca.

It was said that the first Tagalogs that accepted Islam are the Tagarugs of the Northern Side of Manila bay and the Betis Valley and it was followed by the Aparri of the Port Town of Aparri and its environs who lived in the estuary of the Bannag Valley then followed by the Kumintang People of Kumintang and by AD1500 the whole Bannag River basin and the Pampanga River Valley as well as of the Kaboloan and the Island of Minolo whose port is named as Minolo have accepted Islam completely but it is a form Islam that has a lot of Syncretism because some of the people of Selurong wanted to maintain a part of their beliefs which includes worship of Lakan as their Anak Banua or Anak ng Langit, so a syncretic religion coexisted with Islam.

In the following decades the Lakan decided to welcome more Chams because they contribute in making the people of their land more united, the Chams resettle near Kawit in the region of Kumintang, Kawit became known as Kuta Cham.

In the 1500’s, a Muslim Prince from the Malay lands established as Sultanate in Kuta Bato in the land of the Iranuns which is called as Kairanunan by the people of Selurong, he organized the Muslims that already live in the lands of the Iranun and started the vigorous islamization of the land.

The Successor of Manduul, Dayan Khan expanded his realms to Manchuria and Sinkiang in his reign and because of that the areas further of the Great Wall of the Ming were lost and fell into the control of the Mongol Khanate as well as the area of Baikal and the Amur Valley.

Due to the alliance and links between Selurong and Malacca, Majapahit deteriorated till its capital converted to islam in 1500 ending its existence.
On AD 1500, the Town of Bigan became known for its trade with China and Lakan Gambang would transfer the capital to Bigan in order enhance trade links with China, Champa and Japan, people from Betis Valley and Tondo also migrated to Bigan as well as people from Apayao making Bigan speak the same language as the Betis Valley and Tondo and Bigan is renamed as New Tondo.

The Failed Siege of Malacca by the Portuguese

In 1509, Diogo Lopes de Sequeira was sent to Malacca by the king of Portugal with four ships to establish contact with the Sultanate of Malacca. Initially, Sequeira was well received by the Sultan Mahmud Syah (1488–1528). Soon however, the Tamil Muslim community convinced Mahmud Syah that the Portuguese should be eliminated, based on the Portuguese treatment of Muslims in Goa. Several men were captured and killed, but the ships escaped.

Albuquerque first departed from India for Malacca in April 1511, with 1,200 men and 17 to 18 ships. Albuquerque's objective was to sever Islamic trade and Venetian trade on the same occasion.

The Sultan of Malacca wanted to fight the Portuguese, Lakan Gambang of Selurong gave Malacca mercenaries from his own land in the Cordilleras which said helped the Malaccans in the battle due to a resumed friendship between the Malaccan Sultanate and Selurong.
The Mercenaries told their compatriots in the battle that their land should be called as Ketagalugan or rather the Tagalog Rajahnate not Selurong.

The Tagalog and Malay battalion defeated the Portuguese in that battle causing the Portuguese to retreat but the Tagalogs and the Malays capture 20 Portuguese people including a few women who were sold as slaves or informants in their respective countries.

The failure of the siege caused Manuel I to believe that it is a curse from god but the existence of the Tagalog Rajahnate became known to the Portuguese because of the Portuguese that retreated from the battle came to know the composition of the soldiers, the Portuguese called the Tagalog Rajahnate as Reino de Tagala, the two states stopped the Portuguese expansion in the Malay Archipelago and thwarted the plans of Manuel I but that is not the end of the attempts.

Battle of Samar
After the reign of Gambang on his death, he is replaced by his son, Iskandar who was known for his ambition.

On 1515, the Kumintang House, a minor branch of the Tagalog Dynasty acquired lands in Samar which led to the confrontation between the ruler of Selurong and the Rulers of Samar, the northern coast of the Island of Samar is forcefully annexed to the Tagalog Rajahnate and forced to make tribute to the Lakan but the Rajahnate were later expelled from Samar as well as the Kumintang House which were evicted from the lands they own in Samar.

The man the expelled the Tagalogs from Samar is Kaliph Pulaku.

This started the immense hatred of the Visayans to the people of Selurong.

The Colonization of the Cape
Due to the defeat of the Portuguese in Malacca by the troops from the two states.

Some of the Portuguese who survived the failed siege of Malacca decided to establish a settlement in South of Africa in the Cape in the area of the Bushmen who wanted protection against the Bantu.

A settlement of the portuguese is found in the cape and the portuguese who promised to support the Bushmen against their enemy, the Bantus and making a colony in the Cape, it would make the Portuguese have some lands that are near their vassal Kingdom which is Congo.

In the same time Manuel I decided that he will be the King of Castile and Aragon and made a deal with Ferdinand of Aragon regarding the succession of the crown of Aragon and also both controlling Spain and the cape would be a serious matter for Manuel I, he would also later covet the New World colonies of Spain.

Note: In this TL Germaine De Foix does not marry the King of Aragon

The two deaths
The son of Joanna of Aragon, Charles is very ill and for that reason Joanna became more worried about her son’s health, Charles dies of a sickness and Ferdinand inherits everything, but it is a problem since Manuel I of Portugal is seeking to gain all of Aragon and Castile, the death left Ferdinand of Austria as the only heir to the Habsburg dominions but he is weak to assert his rights to Castile-Aragon, he is set to inherit both Bohemia and Hungary via his wife, due to his brother in law dying in infancy.

Earlier in the reign of Vladislaus II Polish Culture is revived due to a revived interest in literature in Silesia because the Printing in Polish started in Silesia and the culture that emerged is Polish Catholic, Wroclaw becomes the center of culture, Ferdinand of Austria would find out that the Polish people in Silesia are loyal to the Habsburgs so he gave them privileges and made the Polish language official in Silesia.
