I always wondered how will Russia behave as a nation if Lenin instead of being a Marxist was a right winger a la Kennedy or wanted to make Russia a country like the USA.

Apart from less massive deaths or famines what would be the consequences of a rightist Lenin, extra points if Stalin is priest.

If Lenin were a right-winger, he never would have gotten near power, or if he did, it would have been under circumstances so different from OTL as to be unrecognizable.

Lenin's parents were monarchists and liberal conservatives, so I don't think it'd be too crazy for him to become a right-winger, but the major factor that put Lenin on the path to socialism was the execution of his brother, Alexander, for plotting the assassination of the Tsar. So perhaps if you somehow prevent Alexander from being executed, maybe Lenin could've been a right-winger.

If Lenin was a Right Winger he would have either died fighting with the White Forces or, far more likely, simply never been heard of.

Tsarist Russian WAS Right Wing, close to reactionary, politically. Lenin had no wealth or family connections that would have placed him among the Tsar's advisors.

Dose the October Revolution even happens in this timeline without Lenin being left-wing?

Exactly this. Tsarist Russia didn't need another right winger. It had those in spades among the tsar's inner circle.

Probably, not in the same form but Russia is still ripe for revolution in 1917 without Lenin, as seen simply by the overthrowing of the tsar. No Lenin still leaves a ton of revolutionary figures around to lead a revolution.

If you're looking for a scenario of Lenin as successfully becoming a revolutionary Right Wing leader, taking over a party, reforging it in his image and overthrowing a democratic government that succeeded a monarchy, you are basically going to see a Russian Hitler.

I think this thread's scenario would be better worded as "Moderate" than Right Wing. As a moderate, you could take the wind out of Communism's sails. In that scenario you are looking more at a focus of Kerensky continuing without overt threat than a focus on Lenin, though.

The Russian Revolution =/= the October Revolution, which was only one portion. The February Revolution and collapse of the Imperial army + expedited land reform in the country side will happen with or without Lenin, however the Bolsheviks would not be able to seize power without him; it was Lenin personally who convinced them to strike when they did (he had to threaten to resign to convince them).

I think a big question is how would Lenin operate any ideology with his personality. Much of what was laid at Stalin's feet as a perversion of the Revolution's original goals was started with Lenin and the Bolsheviks. It was radical from the start. Lenin thought the problem with the French Terror was that it did not go far enough. And the Bolsheviks thought Freedom of Speech was a bourgeoisie myth. I have trouble seeing how, as a personality, Lenin would not have gone too far. As an Enlightenment Liberal democrat / republican, I think Lenin would at worst have been a Robspierre for the 20th Century.
