Richard II marries a Visconti daughter

as It says in the tin, what would change if Richard II married Maddalena Visconti the daughter of Bernabò Visconti and had issue?

Geo peolitically speaking she didn’t bring the expected benefits otl. Richard had to pay her brother after all aha

Why is Richard marrying Maddalena when Caterina was the one offered. A marriage to Caterina would be the most fun (esp. considering her OTL sons' personalities) and it can possibly mean Cat's OTL husband has kids earlier, which means the whole Milanese succession is altered.

Hmph. Not relevant.
Lol. Who else is I. This queen list?

Oh this is true. Would their marriage take place around the mid 1370s?

Yes, I have my Royal Club of Women Who Deserves Better.

It consists of Catherine of Aragon, Anne of Bohemia, Anne of Hungary and Bohemia, Margaret of Angloumene, Isabella of Portugal, Anne of Brittany and Margaret of York.

Hmm, I’m considering something where Edward the black prince either has sons a lot earlier or his brother William or Lionel survives and has male issue. Perhaps a grandson of the black prince or a son of his brither could marry Anne?

And what exactly do you have against my girl Anne of Bohemia, I might ask?

Nothing personally, but:
One: R2 had to pay her brother to marry her and it made him look foolish.
Two: She didn't bring anything to the table.
Three: She didn't have kids.

Three strikes, she's out. And I'll give you a fourth for shits & giggles: All of the above paved the way for Henry IV.

I'll say in her defense that Anne was a much loved wife and queen who fulfilled her duties splendidly. Children or no children.

You're right, eventually she became a much-loved queen. But a queen consort's main duty is to HAVE CHILDREN. She failed in her most crucial duty. I have nothing against your Annie, but she failed in her primary purpose.
