Rhineland Republic in 1936

Thucydides

There has been some talk about a possible Rhineland Republic being formed after WW1. What would this republic do during Hitler's rise to power, if he still rises to power?

I think this becomes a second Saar, and is reunified with Germany after the Saar, but before the Anschluss. History then proceeds as in OTL.
