The 1994 Republican Revolution was an important event in American politics, changing the flavor of American politics and the Republican Party, and it dramatically effected and profoundly altered Bill Clinton's presidency. The loss of Congress in 1994 to Newt Gingrich and the Republicans was a revolution for a reason. The PoD is that Clinton has a better transition and does not shift away from the political center-ground as much as he did in his first two years as President. However, Congress and specifically this idea rarely feature on this board. This TL, a collaborative project between me and @historybuff is designed to rectify that. Enjoy!

ARKANSAS GOVERNOR BILL CLINTON WINS LANDSLIDE VICTORY OVER PRESIDENT BUSH, ROSS PEROT-NOVEMBER 3, 1992
Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton has won a resounding victory in the 1992 election. Clinton got 43.0% of the vote to President Bush's 37.4%, and 370 electoral votes to Bush's 168 electoral votes, with Independent Ross Perot getting 18.9% of the popular vote and 0 electoral votes. Clinton would have looked an unlikely victor when the election campaign first began to start, being Governor of a small state with a small profile facing a President with high approval ratings. However, the poor economy send Bush's approval ratings tumbling, and a slick, professional campaign by the charismatic Clinton won a big victory. Clinton won as a 'New Democrat', a centrist separated from the old liberalism of the Democratic Party/. The American people gave Clinton a resounding mandate for change.

Signalling his status as a 'New Democrat', he declared "I will not govern based on tired old dogmas. I will not govern for conservatives, and I will not govern for liberals. I will govern for you.
