Reverse at Sadowa

What would the effects be of an Austrian win at Sadowa in 1866? The Prussians had the Needle Rifle but their artillery was terrible well the Austrian artillery arm was one of the most advanced in the world. This same sort of balance occured in 1870 and the Prussians won despite having an obsolete rifle. If the Austrian guns had done more damage or maybe killed Moltke and the result of Sadowa is reversed then what happens?
The Italian's had already been battered and couldn't help the Prussians. Would Prussia's German allies have fought on in the face of major defeat?

Most of the german states were on Austria's side in this war. Including the big ones of Saxony, Hannover, Wuerttemberg, and Bavaria. So if Austria wins at Sadowa, it is pretty much over.

I'd forgotten that most of the German states had sided with Austria and then been beaten by Moltke prior to Sadowa.

It depends on how the French react.

Well it was Nappy III's plan to intervene to save Prussia and gain a little something for himself in the process. Mind you I'm not sure how much he can help at that moment. A lenient peace offereed to Prussia instead. So the Germans can present a united front to French and deny Napoleon III anything for his trouble. The line of Augustenborg installed in Schleswig-Holstein (referenda in the Schleswig portion of course to engender Danish Good will) guaranteed by Austria, Lauenburg back to Hannover perhaps.

Even with the Italians doing poorly things are going to have to change in L-V.
