I've seen that map before. It's a highly detailed map of US accents and dialects of English.

It's a map of the distribution of different features in American dialects. On their own, each individual feature would be perfectly fine. All together, it is incomprehensible.

I've seen this map printed out at full size on a color plotter, and I'll tell you this: It's effing beautiful.

Sometimes, on a rare occasion, you *need* to put all of the information on the same map. The DARE (Dictionary of American Regional English) map does this. And for what it needs to do, it does it really really well. It's a work of art.
