Return of Horrible Educational Maps

Well, it's not the worst we've seen, by a long way. It's obviously a cartoon-ish style so the borders can be forgiven for being a bit strange, imo. But there are definitely some questions:
- why does Switzerland* apparently own the Hebrides (should be Scottish), the Balearics (Spanish), Hiiumaa/Saaremaa (Estonian) and, very weirdly, Zealand, which has caused Copenhagen to be moved to the Danish mainland?
(*maybe it's not Switzerland, maybe it's Belgium or Turkey - my work monitor's a bit rubbish so all the colours look similar.)
- and the Canaries are now apparently part of various different African nations!
- why is Gibraltar labelled with GB not RU? In fact, why is Gibraltar included, if Ceuta and Melilla aren't? Come to that, what did Liechtenstein do to offend the map-maker?
- when did Jerusalem move to the coast?
And I'm sure there are other points I've missed - those are just the ones which jumped out at me...

You could also ask why Monaco and Andorra make it in, but San Marino and Vatican City don't.

That bit might be answerable. Monaco and Andorra do border France whereas San Marino, Vatican City and Liechtenstein don't. And the map is francophone after all...

I did wonder that. But they also included Gibraltar, which is definitely not francophone!

Hahaha what's the microstate between Ukraine and Belarus??
I think it's meant to be the Dniepr, which is wide enough to be a lake north of Kiev. But then that begs the question: why are some smaller lakes included (like on the Chad/Niger/Nigeria border) whilst other larger ones (like Vänern in Sweden) aren't?

I believe it is supposed to be a lake, or another piece of water. There are others of those things on different parts of the map.
However, the question is which lake?
Maybe, it is supposed to represent an extra wide part of the Dnieper?

Yeah I think it's the wide bit of the Dnieper river south of Kyiv. It made me chuckle though because at first glance it appears to be a microstate.

Some countries seem to have developed pretty effective camouflage.
Not just in colour, but in name - who would think to look for Finland in a country called Funland? The Balkans have also rebranded themselves as Vogo which is one solution I suppose. Unified Korea and and Irrland that denies 'e' are also fun.

There's also the likes of Terkey, Banama, Ordan, Suday, and a bad case of L-E Blindness.

And a very large Comoros.

  • Canada North, okay. So where’s Canada South?
  • The Union of Soviet Socialist Republic. Good to see it’s still united with itself.
  • “America, America; God shed His grace on thee,” as the famous line goes, highlights the shorthand common parlance of the full title America United States of America.
  • Irrland, because that’s how pirates came to call it.
  • Poland? More like No Land.
  • Ah, yes, the famous and controversial Y borders of Lebanon and Ordan. Almost as controversial as the W of Guyana.
  • Camuoma was a short-lived nation–about three hours one Thursday morning in Cambodia–that dissolved once everyone had sobered up a bit.
  • Good old South. Sitting right at the base of Africa, its famous capital Cape is home to a thriving port.
  • Meanwhile the League of Stuffy Nose Nations sits as a counterbalance to the two aforementioned superpowers. The League being, of course, Banama, Yenezuela, Bolibia, Portucal, and Funland.
