Requirements of Admission to the Prussian Military Academy

This is a rather specific question and I don't know if this is the right place for it.

Anyway, if somebody in the early 20th century wanted to enlist in the Academy, what would they have to do and who is ineligible? What about foreigners? What age do you have to be? Can anybody help me out?

Each year 120 young officers were selected from the whole officer corps on the basis of competitive examinations. of these, only about 40 finished the intensive scholastic course of the academy. And of these graduates, Moltke selected only the best 12 to be trained for the General Staff (Howard, 1962).

I would say that the most important thing was to have von after your name...


Also, I presume that you would generally have to have Cadet High School finished before and have around 18-20 years.
