Republic of Persia: Five Years Later

Next month will mark the six-year anniversary of the fall of the Islamic Republic of Iran on September 18, 2009 and five years since the first free elections that brought Mehdi Karroubi to power. You may remember that he was first elected 'leader in transition' then as the Supreme President under the new Constitution. There were arguably some very tense moments during the Green Revolution, especially during the first of the street protests during the 2009 elections accusing (and later proving) Ahmadinejad of voter fraud, but by September 18 the era of the Islamic Republic was over. I find it ironic that the Persians proved warmer to the US than either the Afghans or Iraqis, without their help on the ground I doubt Iraq would be a feasible nation at this point. What are your thoughts on the anniversary of the fall of this member of the 'Axis of Evil' and Persia since, especially its call for closer ties and a possible trade bloc (and eventual federation) with Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Kuwait, Kyrzygstan, Tajikstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan?

I think that Iran is not interested for viable Iraq, they want it as a puppet.

Also, what's the attitude of Turkey about that trade bloc/federation? I can't see that they are for it, because Turkey want's to be leader to many of these countries ( Turkic people in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgystan )?

Also, I don't think that USA would allow any union between major oil producers like Iran, Iraq and Kuwait- nor I see Kuwait interested in such union...
