Religiously split Balkan not ethnically split Balkan following indpendance from the Ottomans

Instead of different ethnic nation-states(Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia) on the Balkan gaining independance from the Ottomans, have a non-ethnic religiously(Orthodox Christian) based state gain independance.

How would the inter-ethnic relationship be in such a state? Am i right in assuming that theological and higher education would be Greek dominated linguistically? Perhaps over time Greek will become adopted by urban population beyond Greece? Some Yugoslavs may start to celebrate their Greek ancestors. Would the Balkan be less slavo-phile than in OTL?

What would happen with the linguistic landscape of the region?

How would migrations due to the conflict be? Would there be more politically motivated migrations? How many christians, and how many muslims may be forced or choose to migrate?

How would the borders of such a state be compared with the borders of the region OTL? Would larger parts of Ottomans land come under rebel controll? Map suggestion below.

Would Dobruja be part of Romania or this Balkan state?

I can't think of any way to bring the Bulgarians and Greeks in one state. Who will rule it? What will be the official language? What is the situation of flashpoints like Macedonia and Thrace.

I'd call that state "Macedonia" and my guess is it would be established in the early 19th century after Ottoman collapse and would eventually fragment on ethnic lines (but not necessarily the same as OTL states in that area).

Who will rule it?
The citizens of Balkania(or whatever this state is called). Maybe a monarch who could be of British, German or maybe Russian origin? Perhaps a entirely new political system and political class?
What will be the official language?
Maybe only Greek, or maybe a variety of languages(Greek, Albanian, Serbian, Bulgarian, etc)? Allthough i suspect that over time Greek will gain "converts" from other languages.

Greeks and Bulgarians could be on paper equal citizens of the same country. I still suspect that urbanisation and education will lead to the conversion of Bulgarian speakers(and others) to Greek.

Wouldn't the name most likely to unite the Orthodox populations be "the Orthodox Roman Empire" or some such?

The name would probably be something like the Roman Empire (since claiming to be the successor of Eastern Rome would justify much of those territorial claims), but it would fall apart on ethnic lines at some point.

Three ways I can see this happening

1: Muhammad Ali establishes his independent Empire and it controls all of Anatolia but nothing in Europe. The rump ottoman Empire is entirely-european.

2: Ali Pasha of Ioanina establishes an independent Greco-Albanian Sultanate in western greece and southern Albania. Later he proceeds to expand to conquer the remainder of Rumelia.

3: The Phanariotes establish a Greek-dominated empire in the Balkans.
