As Norway kinda reluctantly converted, I could see a chatolic Norway.

But i doubt it would make any severe difference otherwise. Atleast as long as the king in København did not press tha matter later.

so would it end up in a still-Catholic Norway, Protestant NOrway, or a mix?

Well, what was the Catholic/Protestant ratio in Norway? Where were the Protestants most likely to converge? That could play a huge factor.

I really have no idea, and I can't find much on the internet about it. judging from what I've ready, until Christian III proclaimed his kingdom (and thus Norway) a Lutheran state, it hadn't made much headway, but I'd guess the pre-proclamation concentrations would be around the major cities.

Well, in that case, maybe the King could find a middle solution, i.e. tolerating Protestants even though a Catholic country.
