Reddit and Alternate History

Found a cool Future History subreddit tonight: https://www.reddit.com/r/FutureWhatIf/

And it looks like there's a somewhat less active AH one:
https://www.reddit.com/r/HistoryWhatIf/

And a much bigger one:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AlternateHistory

And a similarly big and old one but also less active:
https://www.reddit.com/r/althistory/

Also a bunch more:

/r/HistoryNetwork
/r/whatif
/r/AskHistorians
/r/counterfactuals
/r/TimeTravelWhatIf
/r/PoliticalWhatIf
/r/SportsWhatIf

So this is cool, looks like the online AH community is all over the place

There used to be a pretty good AH subreddit, but there was some drama - IIRC, one of the moderators kicked everyone else out and locked the sub - and it died. Alternate history on Reddit hasn't recovered as far as I can tell.

Unfortunately, thanks to the way the Reddit platform works, when that sub (I think it was /r/HistoricalWhatIf) was locked, the users lost access to all their own posts. I'd put several things up that I was quite pleased with, never to be seen again. :(

Given everything that's happened to SHWI, to Other Timelines, to Changing the Times, and now most prominently to C-F.net, it's always good to have multiple redundancy communities.

Though I suppose the Paradox forums will always be there as a good refugee ship.

DeviantArt also has a rich, large AH graphics making component (I'm not sure if it's actually a community there) and not all of those people are on AH.com

I like how there are entire subreddits that just spin alternate history one-offs:

A multiparty USA where the Democratic notation of Coleman Blease over William Jennings Bryan led to the formation of the American Labor Party, of which Thomas Suozzi is now the president of the U.S. (and Russ Feingold of the Social Democrats is the chancellor) after Joe Arpaio's disastrous administration.

I think lists of subreddits with AH content would be useful. r/imaginaryelections has a ton.

Lemme tell ya, even in a history that might've prioritized whatever you call his "politics," there ain't no way Tom Suozzi ends up even close to the White House.

Oh, it's pretty fantastical

He was launched into the national spotlight after a terror attack in Hempstead and being the first Governor to make their state a sanctuary state and defying Arpaio at every single chance he could. He entered the 2020 Primary against the frontrunner Chicago Mayor Chuy Garcia, Montana Senator Jon Tester, Georgia Governor Stacey Abrams, and Rhode Island Senator Patrick Kennedy he was an underdog but did very well at the debates and won upset victories in Pennsylvania and Oregon so Abrams, Kennedy, and Tester dropped out endorsed Suozzi and he defeated Garcia.

Suozzi's moderate positions help make him different from the 2016 nominee Bernie Sanders who came in third and didn't enter the runoff between Trump and Thiele.

Hempstead?!

I've long been familiar with these subreddits for quite I while now, I just wish there was something that can connect all of the sites together (Reddit-Alternate History-Historium-Twitter-Youtube), you know?

It's all very spreaded out across the web, even though it's kind of the same internet subculture.

Create a super site merging reddit alt history sub forums, Historium, alt history twitter threads and alt history together with alt history YouTube.
