Interesting book.
Old.

Basic premise is OK, but written before WWII, so the author missed things (like tanks and airplanes - oh yeah and any concept of logistics). More like a super WWI.
One big problem - the author is a racist. No by the standards of 1929 when it was written, but by our standards an out-and-out racist. That REALLY detracts from the book. Makes the protagonists seem, well, evil.

I still liked it - but just because I like alternate history.
