red dawn the movie what do you think of it?

Seconded ...

Don't Forget though, The Film Had Some Very Important Repercussions ...

It Practically Made BOTH, Lea Thompson and Charlie Sheen's Careers!

Except that Charlie Sheen still has one. Lea Thompson pretty much died after Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Dirty Dancing.

Yes, and from what I heard, they couldn't stand each other.

I wonder if Howard the Duck killed her career?

Probably, Caroline in The City ...

There's this Moment in The Third Season, Where you Can Just WATCH her Career Die ...

Most Likely, When she Cut her Hair Short, in a Feeble Attempt to be 90s Trendy!

Didn't like it. Pure right-wing propaganda. Background explanation was unsatisfying. And I really don't know whether I'd want to fight with the wolverines.
What I REALLY Liked About it was, its an Armed Society is a Polite Society Message was Almost Perfectly Balanced By a Commentary of Just What Happens to Those Who Live By The Gun ...

Like in an Early Scene we See The Ubiquitous They Can Have My Gun When they Pry it from My Cold Dead Fingers Bumper Sticker, Meanwhile The Camera Pans to The Cubans Doing Just that ...

Not to Mention The Ultimate Message they Lose!

C'mon, as far as Swayze movies go this was pretty decent. It was certainly better than Roadhouse or Next of Kin. ;)

As far as plausibility...no, of course it's not plausible...it was an 80s action flick. It was more plausible than Commando (what a piece of crap that movie was) and didn't want to make me puke NEARLY as much as Over the Top.

Yeah I agree its completely implausible, but I am the only to see or to think there are deep ideas here on war and what happens to people in war?

Oh I can see where you're coming from. I'm guessing you're referring to scenes like the one where Daryl comes back from town having been bugged with a tracking device and Jed winds up killing him?

yeah, but that's the tip of the iceberg Cuban Commander, Robert (guy who goes all Rambo), Russian soldiers, who were killed, and more. I can literally go on and on about the many symbolism, themes, and other stuff from this movie.

Yeah the background is shaking, but the fact that your questioning fighting back is the point. Writer/Director creating a movie that makes you question whether or not becoming a insurgent fighter is a good thing because you'll notice that these kids are becoming more and more dehumanize the more they fight and the more they fight the brutal they become.

Come on, the director calls himself a fascist. How obvious do you have to be? I'm sure that he thinks that the way they act is right.

yeah, but that by itself means nothing. No doubt that the director put in some of his own social-political beliefs, but on the whole I think he was able to distance himself enough to create a great movie.

Eh, Swayze is a has-been

I've watched bits and pieces of the movie, but never the whole thing. My opinion of it is: Meh

The tedious Hollywood-goes-to-the-war-movie style was expected but the way every critic in America soiled themselves in reviewing the movie was really quite amusing.
