Recruitment and Training in the late Roman Empire

I was wondering how much training it would take in the late Roman Empire to fully train certain units.

Like how long would it take to train a comitatense, limitanei, pseudo-comitanse, and cavalry. I assume a comitatense took longer to train than a limitanei due to the comitatenses being a mobile field army compared to the limitanei just being simple border legions.

Thanks in advance.

I'll have to be brief here, but basically, it is likely that in the late period, training was increasingly informal. The Romans appear to have retained the tradition of training men under supervision, in units, for some time, but we cannot say for certain how much resemblance this structure still bore to the state of affairs described by Vegetius. It isa notable that the Late Roman army recruited cavalry am,ong sons of cavalrymen by preference, and liked to recruit Germanic volunteers into its comitatenses. That suggests to me that certain skills were hired in rather than trained by preference.
