Recommendation Prehistoric novels

Already have read the inheritors shortly after Lord of the Flies I enjoyed it. I was thinking more about other novels on sites then actual novels

How ASB do you want to get because Harry Harrison's Eden Trilogy is readable, although a major divergence.
It is readable, but also as inaccurate as it could be. Abstracting from dinos (portrayed with "Million Years BC" level realism) Peaceful hunter-gatheters, who do not kill other humans? That is complete nonsense. Some small isolated population like Moriori could have such lifestyle, but not population of whole continent. Hunters Gatherers are warlike.

Micheal and Kathleen Gear write mostly about pre contact NA, some going very far back (Kennewick man for example). They are rl archeologists and really seem to have a sense of place and time. I like Micheal definitely more (Two of his, The Morning River and Coyote Summer, set later then when you're asking for, are personal favorites)
