Recast That Show

Here's a little game I came up with (and if it should be in Shared Worlds or ASB, please move it). The jist is I'll post an actor or actress and add a blurb about a show they were on in this alternate world. The next person will put a new actor in that character's spot on their RL show during the time.

For example...

Allison Janney on Law & Order (1993-2007)
Allison Janney was cast as Claire Kincaid on NBC's Law & Order as an Assistant District Attorney. When the Head Prosecutor, Ben Stone, left his role Janney's character was promoted where she played a passionate prosecutor seeking to put justice first. She left the show in 2007 after her and NBC executives were unable to make a deal on her contract.

So now someone will need to pick an actress or actor and replace the character of CJ Cregg on The West Wing. You can change the gender of roles in certain situations because otherwise we're going to have a bunch of actresses and now actors.

Matthew Perry on The West Wing (1999-2006)
Matthew Perry was cast as Christopher James Cregg on NBC's The West Wing as the Press Secretary. Perry, who had almost been cast in the hit sitcom, "Friends" was brought by NBC for West Wing. Perry's portrayal of Cregg was one of professionalism mixed with a sarcastic type of humor that played well with the press. In 2004 his character was promoted to Chief of Staff following the departure of Chief of Staff Leo McGarry. Perry received an Emmy award for this role.

Michael Conrad and James Sikking on M*A*S*H:

Michael Conrad joined the cast of M*A*S*H for the 1976-77 season, replacing McLean Stevenson (LTC Henry Blake, USAR). Conrad's character was COL Stanley Perzinski, USA. Perzinski was outlined as a regular Army officer, originally from the Highlandtown section of Baltimore. To add color to Perzinski's character, Conrad spent several weeks in and around Baltimore, soaking up local culture and learning the Baltimore accent.

James Sikking joined the case for the 1978-79 season, succeeding Larry Linville (MAJ Frank Burns) as MAJ George Cassatt Biddeford, scion of a Philadelphia Main Line family and would-be chief of surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital. Sikking's character managed to blend the attitudes of an "old money" family (one might say snobbery), supreme self-confidence, and yet a surprising degree of humanity.
