Reality Check: Easter Rising Successful

It seems like that the Easter Rising is helped by the Germans in TLs were the British lose WW1 however could the rising really succeed? It was confined to Dublin, the British had more men and weapons even with the war.

No, it could never have succeeded. In fact, I don't even think the rebels themselves thought it could succeed; they were rising up in order to make a political statement, not out of any expectation of actual success. The events of the uprising themselves show that the rebels had little or no support among the civilian population, who seemed pissed off that the rebels were causing so much disorder and trouble. It was only after the harsh treatment by the British of the captured rebels that the public began to sympathize with them.
 
It could only succeed if large parts of the British empire were somehow falling apart while Britain was simultaneously involved in a conintental European war and had only partial control of the seas. For this to happen, a whole lot of countries and rebel movements would have to gang up on the UK at once. One reason the British decided to give the USA independence is because the other European powers were starting to take advantage of the moment and chip away at their empire.
