Realistic territory of Greater Ethiopia

In a scenario where Zagwe / Ethiopia (or other kingdoms) are not isolated from the rest of Christendom, how large could they realistically become by the present?

Essentially the PODs beyond the Horn of Africa would be a successful Byzantine invasion of the Levant and Egypt (as mentioned here), Crusaders dominating the Maghreb and Zoroastrianism being restored in Persia via the Ziyarid Empire. Taken together it should in theory at least roughly resemble the Byzantine-Persian status quo that existed prior to the earlier Arab invasions, with a few exceptions here and there (such as parts of Mesopotamia) but just enough to end the isolation of Zagwe / Ethiopia (or other kingdoms).

Otherwise unsure where the Nubian Kingdoms of Aloadia, Makuria and Nobatia would fit into this ATL.

I'm very doubtful about Crusaders having anything even close to success in the Maghreb, while the Ziyarids could not have survived for long in an Iran which was, by that point, over 90% Muslim.

Honestly just a Byzantine Egypt (which is also very unlikely, but not as implausible as Crusader Maghreb and Zoroastrian revival) should be enough to take Ethiopia out of isolation.

Actually there was still a significantly large population of Zoroastrians in Persia, the Ziyarids via a surviving Mardavij (and his successors) were the last real attempt for a Zoroastrian revival in Persia. Just included it merely to add to the ATL context outside of the Horn of Africa.

Anyway back to the original question, how large could a non-isolated Ethiopia become? Would it be limited to just the Horn of Africa at best and if not, what territory could an ATL Ethiopia realistically incorporate?

With a Byzantine Egypt, I think it's actually likely that Ethiopia would enforce some sort of hegemony over the Red Sea so long as the Byzantines don't try to grab it for themselves. There would be some sort of expansion towards the Somali lands, but here too, Ethiopian control would be very loose. The south and west are unlikely to be Ethiopian priorities.

Would Ethiopia be able to conquer / vassalize the Nubian kingdoms or even be in a position to invade parts of Yemen loosely akin to what Abraha did centuries before? Also wonder whether they would be able to benefit from Red Sea and Indian Ocean trade like Axum before, later using the Indian Ocean to both explore and conquer parts of East Africa (e.g. Zanzibar)?

Btw what is the source for the graph as have read differing accounts suggesting there was still a plurality of Zoroastrians in Persia until after the Samanids?
