Let's assume Lockheed's bribery machine fails, and in 1958/9 Canada and Germany chose the Grumman F11F-1F Super Tiger for their NATO fighter and/or tactical strike role instead of the F-104. How do we see the aircraft involving?
Do we see Grumman's now stronger relationship with Canada (as well as Germany) lead to a possible Grumman aircraft instead of the McDonald F-101 replacement for the F-100 NORAD interceptor in 1961? This is too early for the Tomcat, but what of the Grumman G-118? Of course you'd need more than just 100+ aircraft for Canada to complete the design and get it produced.
I have just one request for replies; let's leave the Arrow out this. It's off the table, though Avro Canada could be considered as a possible assembler of whatever is chosen.
