I made this a long time ago on HeroMachine. Just found it again.

Good work. :D

These poles (minus the mottoes) were made by Oblast for me over in the flag thread. :)

Eagle standards in Roman Imperial-style adopted by the Republican Union in the mid-1800s. Army units carried the cross variant (with the Latin motto "Pia Fidelis" ("Pious and Faithful" or "Loyal and Faithful"), while the Navy carried the Anchor variant, with the motto "Sine Metu" ("Without Fear"). The adoption of these came about during the Roman Imperial fad in the Republican Union, and the soldiers carried them into battle as icons all the way up to the 1950s. The "Aquilifers" tasked with carrying the massive poles into battle made prime targets for enemy snipers and troops. Upon the loss of an Aquila Standard, the American troops proved willing to plunge into minefields to retrieve them, lest the Legion's honor be soiled.

:D:eek:

This is awesome bro.

Danke. :) I'm actually going to make another similar thing, a signifer pole. It's what marks a sub-unit of a Legion. A Legion will probably be the same thing as a division (contains 10,000-15,000 men), so they contain about 6 regiments/brigades(~3000 men). Each of those will have a signifer.

The tallest pole (with the hand symbol) is a signifer.

Also, carried on parade next to a Legion's aquila will be a similar signifer with that Legion's campaign streamers attached. :D

How far does the R.U. go to imitate/reminisce Imperial Rome in uniform?

The personal uniform of one Specialist William J. McGrady, IACC (ret.). McGrady was a renowned war hero from the ten-year Great War that saw the Terran Empire and its extensive allied empires conquer the Milky Way. McGrady served in the Imperial Army Cavalry Corps as a dragoon--a footsoldier acting as advance scouts and defenders for heavy armour--during the early years of the war in the 4260s. Having already fought valiantly in three previous campaigns, he was decorated greatly for his actions in the Battle of Khoz in 4267. He not only survived several engagements with the enemy and received no less than three injuries meriting the Wound Badge, he further assisted the bringing to justice of a treasonous Colonel. He was granted an honourable discharge from military service at the end of the campaign.

He received the Knight's Cross, the Iron Cross, the Distinguished Service Cross, Bronze and Silver Stars, the Infantry Assault Badge in silver, the Wound Badge in gold, the Close Combat Clasp in gold, and the Tank Assault Badge. These, as well as his four campaign ribbons, are worn on his light blue Imperial Army dragoon uniform.
Specialist McGrady subsequently went to work for the Imperial State Security Service, a joint service civilian and military agency controlling wartime intelligence operations.
