A table of all uniforms of the combat services of the Armed Forces of the Central Galactic Union. In junior general scale.
Battledress is the combat-ready uniforms worn over light and medium battle armour. Field Duty uniforms are worn when in combat zones, or on barracks, in everyday situations. Service Dress uniforms are office wear, "business suit" type clothing, worn in offices or in semiformal situations. Shirt and tie can be worn in some situations, with the service jacket removed. "Tropical" uniforms are provided for general hot weather regions. Parade Dress are formal uniforms.

OOC: I went all out on this one. I heavily modded a commonly used Hapsburg template into a Republican Union Office of Racial and Religious Affairs Sky Commander of the 1920s-30s. All R.U. uniforms are based on classic OTL WWI-WWII American uniforms, with a few OTL Russian elements thrown in. I'm rather pleased with how the tie color turned out; reminds me of the 1930s.
IC: The uniform displays a more elegant side of R.U. uniform design with its gold floral trim, double breasted jacket with gold buttons, and gold silk tie. Also shown is the active duty/combat headgear, a ORRA-brown M-13 pot helmet, and a scarf (sewn to exact rank specifications) for cold temperatures flying high over the Union. This specific uniform sports a Pentagon Star, 1st Class, for meritorious service to the Republic.

Same place I got mine from a while back. The man is a damned genius, as are his prominent collaborators.

Someone on another forum wondered what the rank insignias of the krigsmarine could have looked like if they had developed into some that could be worn on a shirt collar like the US and some other countries.
This is what I came up with (bit star trekish in my own opinion). For comparison sake, you can see the historical insignias here.

So here's some rank insignia I made for the armed forces of the Terran Union, the pan-Terran government (in theory, at least) in one of my science fiction projects. They are shoulder insignia; the bottom of each insignia should face forward, with the top facing backward. They would be rotated 90 degrees if displayed vertically.
All three services - the Terran Marines, Union Navy and Terran Spaceforce - use identical insignia.
The officer ranks of each service are:
Marines - Captain General, General, Lieutenant General, Major General, Brigadier, Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, Major, Marine Lieutenant, Second Lieutenant, Junior Officer, Student Officer
Navy - Lord Admiral, Admiral, Vice Admiral, Rear Admiral, Commodore, Captain, Commander, Lieutenant Commander, Naval Lieutenant, Sublieutenant, Ensign, Officer Cadet

Some that I worked on some time ago that I've just gone back to and finished, originally from Tounushi's templates.
These are the dress uniforms for the Terran Spaceforce, Terran Marines and Union Navy, respectively. Rank insignia would, as stated above, go on the shoulder. Any decorations, ribbons and so on would go on the chest-left.

Wow - these are fantastic! There's definitely a bit of a Trekkie feel to them, but the still have a proper military feel as well, more like film-era Trek or remake Battlestar Galactica.
