RAAF Lincolns in Korea.

WI instead of being comitted to Malaya 1sqn Lincoln bombers were comitted to Korea?

Could they provide a useful niche capability?

Well, they'd be small in numbers I can't think of anything that they would have over the likes of the B-29's. However, if they do go to good use, perhaps in could persuade the RAAF the need of maintaininig a long ranged heavy bomber force?

Night time attacks on the Yalu river bridges? Maybe even pull out the plans for the Tallboy and Grandslam earthquake bombs and drop them.

That would be cool. Just a question, does anyone know if the RAAF ever operated Grand Slams or Tallboys?

Don't think so however that's to say that there were no Aussies in the RAF who had experience with them and were serving with the RAAF at the time. I makes me wonder why the RAF never did just what you are suggesting

Going back to basic idea, its way cool. They would have had the range if based in Japan and would surely have been handy for taking out dams as suggested or attacking troop concentrations.

There's a fair chance of that. Dominion Air Force personel were well intergrated in the wartime RAF and I'm pretty sure some served with 617 squadron. Even if there isn't anyone with experience they can always ask the RAF lend them someone that does.

Well 617 Squadron, at aleast during Operation Chastity quite a few of the crew were from the Commonwealth. how many of them stayed on aver that mission, I can't say.

From what I see posted here it looks like as it the idea may very well work. There is a mission, go kill dams and bridges. The last question is if tall boys or grand slams still existed on base in the UK some where. If they don't I guess the drawings still exist some where so they can be made I guess.
