This is a collaborative TL in the style of The Selma Massacre in which this TL will be told from news articles historical view points etc.

This TL is what if FDR followed his doctor in January 1944 and resigned the presidency and gave it to Henry Wallace.

PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT TO RESIGN TODAY- SAYS ITS DOCTORS ORDERS

Franklin D Roosevelt despite being a runaway favorite in November's election has said that he will address the nation telling the Amercian people that he will resign due to health reasons.

A spokesman said that if he was president for another term even for the rest of this one he said that he would not live through it.

January 30th 1944:ROOSEVELT SAYS FARWELL HENRY WALLACE SWORN IN AS 33rd President!-New York Times

Franklin D Roosevelt in a sorrow and tearful address to the nation addressed to the American people due to major health problems he would step down as commander in chief.
Vice President Wallace was sworn in today at 8:30 A.M in the east room of the White House.

Los Angeles Times:HITLER TO AMERCIA:YOU ARE WEAK!

In a radio address to the world Adolf Hitler calls out and mocks the United States and President Wallace for being weak after President Roosevelt resigned earlier yesterday.

Hitler in his address said that this is a sign that the tide is turning and that America is distracted and will fall apart.

In a swift response to Hitler's words, a defiant President Wallace assured the American people that the country will continue its fight in Europe. In a radio address to the nation Wallace declared "If Hitler thinks he can frighten America into chaos and retreat, he is gravely mistaken. Our country is strong. We will not surrender to evil, and we will continue to crush his so-called empire until he and every last Nazi is hunted down and destroyed!"

WALLACE TO RUN IN 1944 for reelection.

President Henry Wallace in a open letter to the public from close correspent has told the Washington Post that he will run for Reelection in November to quote

"Continue the process President Roosevelt has made through the 10 years"

Wallace:US will work more closer with the USSR in this adminstarion.
New York Daily News
President Wallace in a press briefing said that the United States will work closely with the the Soviets to fight the Nazis and the Japs in Europe and the Pacific.

Wallace however previously had seen critized for being a quote "Commie sympathizer" around the time before he came Vice President a few years ago.
