Questions on Germany's african ambitions

I think it's rather fair to say that the german ventures in Africa brought little to no good for the mainland and probably just prejudice in East Africa (not sure about Namibia).

What do you people think about that? Am I too wrong? Do you have any insights on this matter? Also, what do you think that could have happened if they decided to acquire no colonies as the US and Austria?

They brought genocide to Namibia and no benefit to Germany, beyond "prestige". If they did not have colonial ambitions there would be no need for a naval fleet, meaning an Anglo-German alliance could have occurred.
