Questions/Brainstorming about a Norse, surviving Vinland

I have a few ideas for a TL on the Norse-American state of Vinland. I'd like to gauge plausibility and ideas concerning any TL about it. A few points here that would be a little different:

1. An earlier discovery and settlement by Norse settlers, establishing a state following the Norse pantheons and being ~independent of Norse Kings, sort of like an Iceland 2.0. This would take place with a slightly altered PoD in the late 10/early 11th century.

2. European norse Kings start to convert in the mid-11th century with all the gusto of new converts, including a lot of religious pressure and fleeing to this new Vinland place. Many are simply let go, missionaries and zealots are more worried about Norway/Sweden and to a certain extent Iceland.

3. Vinland becoming very Anti-Christian in its own little corner, but still trading. the population surpasses ten thousand in the early 12th century, with mostly ethnically norse but mixing with natives as well.

4. Trade continues with Europe for a while, but the Norse don't listen to missionaries. This is the possibly least plausible thing: a sort of reformed Norse Religion with a hatred for Christianity merges, mixing elements of Norse Pantheons, Native American beliefs, and Catholicism.

5. Contact with Europe cuts off as the little Ice Age begins, to be resumed again a few centuries later...

Is all of this possible? What are your thoughts on such a scenario? How would the Norse civilizations evolve?

On Playing the Game Our Own Way: I'm sort of hitting a brick wall. The details are just not coming together as well as I'd hoped they would, and I'm disappointed with my writing quality. Add to that the fact I've barely had time to get on here the last 2 weeks, and there are still no posts. I'll try to remedy it.

The burning issue will be the relation with the North American natives. OTL the Norse settlers and the natives did not get along well, which is the reason the Vinland settlement failed.

Errr.... What slows the establishment of Christianity in Europe? Iceland converted in 1000AD for various reasons, but one of which was that if they didn't, the Norwegian king would invade to convert them by force.

Getting a Norse pagan Vinland is tough, but doable. Keeping it pagan is much harder.

Also. Why on earth would they lose contact with Europe?
