Question: Who Else Could Have Been the First Female British Prime Minister?

So, yeah, I'm just wonder who else but Maggie Thatcher Could have been Britains first Female Prime Minister? I don't know alot about British politics, so I thought I'd ask the forum.

:):)

I don't see anyone else. There were no prominent female MPs in the Tory Party who could assume a leadership role. They all (especially the uber-sexist Heath) underestimated her partially because she was a woman. Like Hillary, she had more balls than most of her male colleagues. ;) Other prominent Lab politicians were Barbara Castle and Shirley Williams, but neither of them would ever win the leadership of the Labour Party without significant PODs. Certainly none of them would successfully challenge an incumbent leader who was a former (though epicly failed) PM, who had held the leadership for a decade. Neither would be as successful or long-serving as Maggie.
