Question on Heraldry

Suppose Austria acquired Bavaria and relinquished the Southern Nederlands in exchange, in an effort to reflect this Austrian heraldry is changed would replacing the white in the red & white motif with Bavaria's checkered blue & white be nice motif to really represent a union (of Aus & Bav) or would the checkered blue & white be better off separate l. Thanks.

That is not the way it worked.

In a heraldic context, Austria (Upper and Lower, and that is just the part along the Danube, not Inner Austria=Styria+Carinthia+Carniola) and Bavaria are completely different realms of the same ruler. So the different arms of Bavaria would be added to the big Austrian CoA, not fused.

The usual CoA of the Electoral Duchy of Bavaria is this:
