Regarding to the name Asen, it looks like the name itself is the full name of the Bulgarian Dynasty, but I have a question regarding about it if anyone is well known with Bulgaria, and is why isnt it like Asenovic (Ex: Nemanja = Nemanjic) or something else of that word? Kinda concerns with my TL and just a irksome wonder Ive noticed

According to wiki there are several theories:

1. A remnant of the Turkic roots of the Bulgarians, a name that might indicate the Asens were around in pre-Slavic times.
2. Or it might be that the Asens came from some neighboring non- Slavic people like the Vlachs or the Cumans, but later was assimilated into the Bulgarians.

But can the name be converted into Asenovic or such?

The Asenenvs (which is how they were called in Bulgaria) were most likely of Cuman origin, judging by their name and the apparent ease with which they were able to recruit Cumans to fight for them. The -ic suffix is Serbo-Croatian and doesn't occur in Bulgaria.

Didnt know that, thanks
So calling it the name Asenev dynasty is the rather perferred name for Asen?

Well, that's the Bulgarian form (or more precisely Асеневци or Асенева династия is). English has different rules on this. I suppose that Asen dynasty would probably be the natural name.

Oh, so basically Asen has no -ev (According to Bulgarian standards), it just sounds foreign and I would to convert the name into a more Bulgarized form, thats all
