My TL is currently in 1985, but I've more or less worked out where it's going from there so I can answer this:
-By 2010, America has had it's first socialist President (Bill Clinton, American People's Party, 1992-2000), who is generally considered in the top 10 Best Presidents in US history.
-Britain is still emerging from 40+ years of fascist rule under the British Union of Fascists (Sir. Oswald Mosley became PM in 1965, the BUF had more or less full control by 1970). Other political parties still aren't allowed, but that ban is expected to be lifted soon, now that a non BUF member has become PM for the first time in 45 years.
-Germany restored its monarchy in 1939 with the December 1 coronation of Kaiser Louis Ferdinand I, and is now under it's second Kasier. The German Reich has one of the best militaries in the world, defeating the Soviet Union in 1954 during the Polish War, and is considered one of the leading Great Powers.
-America's Equal Rights movment began in the mid-to-late 1960s, and didn't gain full success until the 1970s under President Joseph Kennedy, Jr. This movment was more violent that it's OTL analogue, with the state of Alabama openly defying the Federal Government in 1974, which led to the short, so-called "Alabama War" that year. By 1975, the two-party system in America began to decentegrate. In 2010, there are three major parties: The Liberty Party (formerly the Democratic Party), the American People's Party, and the Republican Party (pro-business); and two minor parties: The Southern Democrats (highly racists plus BIG state's rights advocates) and the State's Rights Party (same as SD without the racism).
-The Soviet Union began to collapse after the Polish War ended in 1954, and the restoration of the Czar in "free Russia" (territory occupied by the Germans and later lumped together with other territory to form the Imperial Baltic Federation). The USSR unravled into civil war in the 1960s, which spilled over into Free Russia in the 1970s, at which point the IBF invaded and put an end to the Soviet Union, and most of that country's territory was incorperated into the IBF, with the exception of Ukraine and Far Eastern Russia.
-The Middle East is somewhat of a mess at the moment, still trying to recover from the Iran War, which started in 1979 and did not end until 1990. The Islamic Republic of Iran is still rebuilding itself, and hates both the UK and the USA for their having propped up the Shah in the southern half of Iran during the war, and having exploited the country's oil. The Republic of Pakistan is in similar shape, having left the British Commonwealt in 1988-89 after going through an "islamic revolution". British National Petoleum, once the primary oil company in the middle east, now only operates in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, and has been greatly reduced and no longer holds an oil monopoly.
-The Union of Palestine (consisting of the semi-autonomous states of Israel and Palestine) has remained peaceful since the end of the British Mandate in 1960, though has expereinced rising tensions in recent years since the end of the Iran War and the rise of "militant islam", and the first recorded terrorist attack occured in Tel Aviv in 1999, and there have been at least half a dozen since then.
-America and Germany have been involved in a friendly space race since the 1950s, with Germany getting to the moon in 1963, America in 1968. The first permanent Lunar colony was established in 1985 by the USA, and the Germans were the first to walk of Mars in the 1990s (most likely to be followed by the Americans). In 2010, Lunar Tourism looks very likely within the next 5-10 years.
-Airships are still an integral part of the world's transportation network, carrying millions of tons of cargo around the world, along with carrying thosands of passengers from place to place. Though more passengers have been using jet airliners to travel since the 1980s, airship travel is still quite popular, especially for vactioners. The craft have also retained their military value as well, being used as troop transporters during the Iran War and also being used as survelliance ships. Several universities also use airships for research stations.
And that's a glance at 2010 in the world of the Airship President
