in scenarios where the soviets somehow occupy hokkaido and northern honshu, is it at all plausible that they might annex Hokkaido?
several scenarios i was thinking about:
1) the soviets occupy only hokkaido; it becomes a puppet
2) the soviets occupy only hokkaido; it is annexed
3) the soviets occupy hokkaido and northern honshu; both are formed as a single puppet. this is probably the most common scenario
4) the soviets occupy hokkaido and northern honshu; hokkaido is annexed while northern honshu becomes a puppet. would the northern honshu puppet be ticked that hokkaido has been removed from japan politically? Hokkaido i beleive is somewhat culturally and ethnically different from the rest of Japan. Would this help justify its departure from the other main islands politically?
5) the soviets occupy hokkaido and northern honshu; they each become separate puppets. would this make any sense or benefit the soviet management of these two puppets?
