Queen Elizabeth passes on in 2008

Not sure if this borders in Chat, but here goes.

SCENARIO 1: Queen Elizabeth has enjoyed an unusually long life, as did the Queen Mother. Suppose, however, that she passes away in 2008 during the economic crisis. She was 82. Charles succeeds her.

SCENARIO 2: She passes on in early 1996, at 70. At this time, Charles is still trying to finalize the divorce from Princess Diana. He therefore has to take the throne while this is going on. Note that William is a minor at this point.

Prince Philip outlives her in both these scenarios, and assume the Queen Mother dies at the same time as IOTL.

What happens in Scenario 2 if the divorced is finalized and Diana dies as OTL?

In Scenario 1 we do not get the intro to the London Olympics with the queen and Bond skydiving

In Scenario 2, I somehow can't imagine Charles III being a very popular king. Agreed that he won't marry Camilla, at least not at first.

I'm thinking this would probably butterfly away Princess Diana's death; she might well stay with Hasnat Khan and marry and have children with him.
