Queen Elizabeth II becomes queen during World War 2

In OTL the Queen had been crowned in 1953. Let´s assue that she is at least 18 or at least old enough to reign (a warden in her name counts, too). When WW2 ended in OTL, she was barely 19 years old. What would change, if she is crowned during the critical phase of WW2 and what would be the conditions ? She was unmarried and Prince Phillip was in the Navy. How would the Queen´s legacy seen today , if she actually reigned during WW2, thus reigning longer than Rama IX of Thailand who had been crowned in 1945 ?

Well, someone would end up as regent (Duke of York or Duke of Gloucester.) for the war until she reaches 18, and is made Queen in her own name sometime in 1944. The fact her father died during the war might have somewhat of an effect on her, especially if he was killed due to enemy action.

I know, I am unimaginative but when monarch is pretty powerless, it wouldn't change much. Another question is how good Elizabeth would be with technology. Or when did she joined to military?

OTL

In 1942, at age 16, Elizabeth registered with the Labour Exchange –the British employment agency at the time – and was extremely keen to join a division of the women’s armed forces. Her father was reluctant to let her do so, but eventually relented. Once in the Auxiliary Territorial Service, Elizabeth learned how to change a wheel, deconstruct and rebuild engines, and drive ambulances and other vehicles.

There are a lot of pictures:)

She's a real Technophile, for what it's worth.
