Queen Anne dies in 1708

Highly doubtful as long as we are still at war with France. If 18C Brits agreed on anything, it was on being anti-French.

Highly doubtful that there'd be a succession war? Would they'd still be fighting though, especially if there's such uncertainty following Queen Anne's death?

Why would the war not continue? Probably some forces would be recalled to see off any rebellion in the Highlands, but the Allies had the upper hand by 1708 and there'd be no question of calling it off. After all, as long as it continues James is firmly stigmatised as the French candidate for the throne, so it is in the government's interest to continue it.

True enough. I suppose it'd be a more diplomatic coup than an actual war then to see ja,ed on the tone
