Queen Anne bears a healthy son.

Assuming a POD where the elder son of the King of Denmark dies young without issue, Anne's husband George inherits the throne, does a son of theirs inherit the thrones of Denmark-Norway and Great Britain and Ireland?

Or is there some sort of settlement breaking up the two Kingdoms?

How would Britain react to their King possessing realms greater than Hanover?

A big change here is that you might have a stronger monarchy in the 18th century. IIRC, Anne was the last British monarch to refuse royal assent to an act of Parliament.

If you accept a secondary PoD of making either Christian V or Charlotte Amalie of Hessen-Kassel infertile, Prince George (and after him his son by Queen Anne) would be the next king of Denmark-Norway in 1699.

It would be extremely interesting to have George become King Jørgenof D-N (and thus Princess Anne become Danish queen) years before Queen Consort Anne of Denmark-Norway turns into Queen Regnant Anne of Great Britain - I am not sure if there would even be an Act of Union.

With this constellation, it is almost impossible not to have The Great Northen War and the War of the Spanish Succession merge. Not only would D-N remain interested in taking over the Swedish possessions and zones of influence in Scania, Ducal Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen-Verden and maybe Pomerania, in this TL Great Britain would probably support this if it meant better access to the Baltic Sea for Royal navy vessels. (That does not mean that they automatically succeed!)

I think it would be the other way around. Patkul would find little support for his plans for a grand coalition against Sweden at Saint James in London (since England-Scotland is the major country, that is where the court would be). Everyone was holding their breath in western Europe, waiting for the death of Charles II of Spain.

Patkul wanted Saxony, Brandenburg and Denmark-Norway in his alliance - August of Saxony agreed, but his word was never worth anything, he broke any agreement he made if it suited him. Brandenburg refused, and I Anne and George would be interested either - with England-Scotland and Denmark-Norway united, Denmark-Norway would be aligned with England-Scotland and the Netherlands.

Patkul might very well give up on his attempts to form an alliance against Sweden if Denmark-Norway refuses and not go to Russia. Then Peter the Great will continue his original plan to attack the Ottoman Empire.

This will probably mean that Denmark-Norway is allied with England-Scotland and the Netherlands in the War of the Spanish Succession with Sweden friendly (hiring out its German garrisons to the Dutch, English or Danish, as it had done before).

I am unconvinced of this detail. Patkul traveled from court to court in 1699. By then, the English and Scottish king is William III./II., who will die in 1702 or perhaps even later. Small changes might avert the freak riding accident.

OTOH, the Danish king Christian V. riding to hounds, failing to kill a stag and getting fatally kicked and then taking 10 months to die is pretty freakish as well. I think if the king has no children, this alone will create enough butterflies to prevent these exact chain of events.

IOW, it is nearly random when William III. will die, giving the English and Scottish thrones to Anne, and when Christian V. will die, giving the Danish-Norwegian throne to George. If C5 predeceases W3, at least george and possibly Anne will reside in Copenhagen.
