Quebec WI: Daniel Johnson Sr. lives

IOTL the Unionist leaders had a history of cardiological problems: Duplessis died of a paralysing massive stroke, Paul Sauve of a coronary (despite being only 52), and Daniel Johnson also died of a coronary at 52. WI Johnson had lived? By the time of his death the UN was modernising, but he had begun to court Rene Levesque's nascent movement by adopting "Egalite ou independence" (in essence, sovereignty-association renamed) as part of the UN platform. This caused tension within the federalist wing (Duplessis had called separatism a "crime") and the hardliners, which ultimately caused the Union Nationale's implosion in 1970.

If Johnson had lived, could Levesque's movement be "strangled in the cradle", possibly with the PQ replacing the Liberals as the main opposition party? Effects on Quebec politics?

One thing for certain: Robert Bourassa will not be elected Liberal leader, and their best shot would be Claude Wagner, Lesage's AG. The other OTL 1970 candidate, Pierre Laporte, was tragically bought and paid for by the Mafia. Johnson would wipe the floor with Bourassa, especially since in 1977 IOTL Bourassa described himself as a "social-democrat".
