Q: Would a French Revolution be possible if France still belonged to HRE?

In an hypothetic scenario where the original HRE including France would have survived until the 18th century, with no major changes in other historical events (there is still a Reformation, French involvement in American colonialism etc. even if, of course, they are not identical as they happened IOTL)...would it be possible that an analogue of the French Revolution still happens (French- or HRE-wide) or this scenario might prevent/delay it?

Of course, I am assuming that France keeps a great degree of autonomy.

By "the original HRE", we're talking Charlemagne right? Because the HRE then was no more an Empire than Australia is a kingdom today. The head of state has a title that would suggest that description, but that is as far as you get.

Also, the last time 'France' (as in, stuff west and south of Paris) was part of the HRE, to my knowledge, was 887. A full century before France even existed. A tenth century kingdom in central Europe meant nothing more than "wherever a king or lord is able to ride his horse and have people listen to him", so most likely France doesn't even form as the recognisable entity it did IOTL. There's no Hugh Capet to unify the place, Charles the Simple probably didn't have the political strength to create a lasting West Francia that would stay under the Karlings, and the time between the two was a mess of robber barons running rampant and kings dying every five seconds. And Vikings. Without the strong leadership of the early Capetians, WF/France wouldn't have lasted to 1100. There were a lot of things working against it.

Of course, I am assuming that France keeps a great degree of autonomy.
See Charles the Bald for how much autonomy France would have under the HRE: nearly 100%.

An analogue? Sure, democracy was invented a couple of millennia before 1800, so liberalism and whatnot could still exist. But it would be totally unrecognisable. 1000 years of butterflies will do that.
