Are there any maps on the eve of operation Barbarossa
does anybody have good maps for the subdivisions of colonial Africa
I threw together this, Africa in 1950 on QBAM
I'm not 100% sure about the accuracy of some divisions, I had to eyeball some of them, the resources I found for Uganda were conflicting, and I couldn't find info at all for the Cameroons or French Morocco, but I did my best. Hope it helps.
I might expand this into a world map.
Angola 1929 with districts.
apparently the link opens one of those stupid “congratulations you won” pop ups on my phone. But thank you!
The problem is is that my world map is 1914
Well you can use that 1950 map and work backwards I guess.
The 1929 Angola map link works on my desktop (and the subdivisions are definitely different to 1950)
And here's the Belgian Congo in 1914.
Gold Coast 1896.
This I believe is Sudan around that time (after 1918 though).
I think Egypt needs some work. For example the Sinai was one governorate and the Suez Canal Zone was not Egyptian yet.
Also, Sudan only had 9 provinces at this time.
Here's one for German East Africa from the German Wikipedia page for the colony; the same page also divides them between the civilian and military territories for those who want that as well.
Thanks! Ill try and fix these
Yes, the map I linked to for Sudan shows 9 provinces, so I believe those were correct (even if Sudan's external borders were different)
Egypt and Sudan should be good now. Plus, Europe, the Middle East and South Asia.
Sorry about that. Angola 1929 with districts again. I have a higher resolution copy of it too, if anybody needs it.
A higher res would be awesome!
East African Protectorate 1910
I'm absolutely loving the direction this is going; extremely helpful for both the Qbam and vector maps
What's going on in the interior of Oman?
